Since When Does Charles Barkley Know Auburn Football?

You know it had to happen sooner than later. Of course, we should have guessed that it would have been a blow hard like Charles Barkley to bring it up. According to Sir Charles, Auburn hired Gene Chizik instead of the Buffalo Bulls (Buffalo who?) head coach Turner Gil because of race. Yep, you heard it right. If Gene Chizik had been black, Auburn would not have hired him!

Since Charles Barkley is pretty much King of spouting off about things he has no real knowledge of, I thought I would compare the two head coaches. In fact, Charles had such an episode of Diareah of the Mouth, he said that Coach Chizik had the worse resume of anyone that Auburn University interviewed for the head football coaching job. Oh Charles, you're a freakin' walking source of knowledge about college football!

Now, from what I understand, Charles Barkley and a few others in Auburn and around the State of Alabama are upset that Auburn hired a coach that had a losing record in a place called Iowa State (Iowa where?).

But according to an all knowing Charles Barkley, they should have hired a coach who 7-17 his first two seasons at some school noone's heard of. At least a few people have heard of Iowa State!

I puzzled, isn't a losing record a losing record? Do the two additional wins that Turner Gil has on his record really qualify him over Chizik? Me thinks not!

Also, I'd sure take Gene Chizik's coaching career up to the point he started with Iowa State over Turner Gil's. Turner Gil never coached at the level in his college coaching career that Gene did. Yet, to hear Charles "Everything that is wrong in the World is because they didn't hire a black coach" Barkley, Gil's has a much better resume. How he comes to that conclusion only the little people inside Charle's head knows.

I know, I bet it was the year that Turner Gil spent in Green Bay helping Pro Football players get acclimated to playing in Green Bay that gives him the edge over Coach Chizik in Charles opinion.

No, Auburn could have hired anyone for that job and it would have been the wrong decision if he wasn't black according to Charles' thought process. Apparently, if Charles Barkley is doing the hiring, the only qualification that matters is that you're black. Forget about experience. It's all about the skin color for Charles Barkley and others like him.
